Major Joyce Smith, a Goose Creek resident is a mother of two sons, Terry and Tory Burrell. Her passion lies in helping others. She has a proven progressive track record in the last twenty-three years of administration, operation of personnel and resources to provide a safe and enjoyable place for the citizens of North Charleston to live, work and play. She is the coordinator for a joint initiative between local pastors and police, she is the creator and advisor for Women in Blue, a female officer mentorship program. She also is a board member for the Lowcountry Alliance for Model Communities Community Land Trust.
Major Smith is always willing to give selflessly of herself through, volunteer work, guest speaking and mentorship.
