Tyla Abeni Symone Johnson is a native of Abbeville, SC. She is the daughter of Tara M. Johnson and Virgil Leach, Sr. Tyla is 16 years old and a rising Junior at Abbeville High School where she is the reigning Miss Freshman. Tyla is also on the varsity football & basketball sideline & competition cheer squad as well as the Varsity Girls Soccer Team at Abbeville High School. Tyla is a Straight “A” student where she currently ranks number 6 in her class!
Tyla has always had a nurturing spirit and felt the need help others which helped develop her platform S.O.U.L (Showing Others Unconditional Love – “It’s good for the heart; it’s good for the SOUL.”). Tyla is a big advocate for serving her community and others as much as she is able. Tyla has been active in many community service projects but her vision that God put on her heart and mind was to get a Blessing Box for her hometown of Abbeville and the vision came to life March 31, 2021.
Tyla is also young entrepreneur of A Touch of Elegance by Tyla J. Cosmetics and Accessories. Tyla makes lip gloss, lip scrub, Body Lotion & Spray and Hand Sanitizer. She also sells Mask, Scrunchies, Sunglasses, Keychains and Lashes.
Tyla is a member of New Faith Presbyterian Church where she sings on Generation Now Choir & Praise Dance. She is also on the Mission and Outreach Ministry at her church. Tyla enjoys visiting the sick and shut-in as well as the residents of Quiet Acres Assistant Living and having Worship service with them. Tyla is a Member of Delta Academy/GEMS (a mentoring group sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated). Tyla loves to Dance! Tyla has been dancing a total of 13 years. Tyla has had the privilege and honor of dancing with Wendy’s Dance Academy, Dance Dynasty, FIERCE Dance Company and FIYA Dance University! Tyla is currently teaching dance and dancing on the competition team at Phoenix Academy of Arts in Greenwood, SC. Tyla also loves spending time with her Family and Friends. Tyla enjoys playing soccer, painting, and other arts & crafts, participating in pageants, taking pictures, doing TikTok videos and sleeping. Tyla has received the Presidential Award for Community Service from 2017-2020. Tyla has been honored to hold several titles throughout her 12 years of pageantry. Tyla currently holds the title as the 2021 USA Precious Miss National Jr. Teen and she is also 2021 America’s International Miss Teen Southern States where she will be competing in their national pageant the weekend of October 22 – 24, 2021.
